Strain-reducing microtubes

Biohit, Neptune, NJ, introduces its new ErgoTubes, microtubes designed with a patented flip cap, which helps reduce strain and effort during use. ErgoTubes are RNase, DNase, and Pyrogen-Free, and come in eight different colors, including clear. Sizes range from 0.5 to 2.0 mL. All tubes are packaged in tamper-evident resealable bags for user protection as well as sample protection. The tubes are ideal for centrifugation, sample preparation, or storage. Made from virgin polypropylene, they feature a frosted area for marking on both the cap and the side of the vial.

Benchliners

Xylene, strong solvent resistant

Current Technologies, Crawfordsville, Ind, offers benchliners with bright orange plastic backing, which prevent leakage of xylene and xylene substitutes, acetone, ketones, alcohol, and formalin to counters. The orange polyethylene backing has two layers so microbes do not leak through pinholes in the plastic.

The orange barrier layer will not flake off, and the white absorbent side is available in two different absorbencies. They are available in 11 x 16 inches, 16 x 16 inches, and other sizes. Free samples are available.

Hot Hand Protector

No-slip grip mitt

The Hot Hand® Protector, a no-slip grip mitt from Bel-Art Products, Pequannock, NJ, is now available in lime green, red, and sky blue. It is used for handling objects such as beakers, flasks, and bottles at extreme hot or cold temperatures. The mitt comes in one size, 10 x 19 cm (3 7/8 x 7 ½ inches) with a quick fit pocket at each end—one for the thumb and one for the other fingers. Concaved tipped studs on the surface provide a secure grip. Made of silicone rubber, it can withstand temperatures as high as 260°C (500°F) and remains flexible at temperatures as low as -57°C (-70°F).
