The new Louisville campus aims to deliver next-morning molecular diagnostic results to 5 million patient samples annually nationwide.

HealthTrackRx has opened a new $45.5 million facility at the UPS Healthcare Labport campus in Louisville, Kentucky, doubling the company’s testing capacity to 5 million patient samples annually for infectious disease diagnostics.

The facility is designed to deliver next-morning molecular diagnostic results to clinicians and patients across the US, including rural and underserved areas, according to the company. The expanded capacity supports the laboratory’s mission of providing faster infectious disease testing results to enable more timely treatment decisions.

“This investment is about more than expanding our footprint,” says Martin Price, executive chairman and CEO of HealthTrackRx, in a release. “It’s about expanding our ability to improve care equality and strengthen public health through surge readiness, outbreak tracking, and antimicrobial resistance monitoring.”

The new facility leverages UPS’ logistics network to facilitate rapid sample transport and result delivery. HealthTrackRx positions itself as the nation’s leading provider of next-morning molecular diagnostic testing for infectious diseases.

Industry and Government Support

Former secretary of Health & Human Services Alex Azar highlighted the partnership’s potential impact on healthcare delivery and national preparedness.

“This partnership between HealthTrackRx and UPS Healthcare represents the best of American innovation that will bring speed, accuracy, and access to infectious disease testing,” says Azar in a release. “Getting the right diagnosis at the right time means patients get the right treatment, reducing unnecessary costs, improving outcomes, and strengthening our national preparedness for future public health challenges.”

Kentucky governor Andy Beshear emphasized the facility’s role in healthcare logistics, noting Louisville’s strategic position for rapid distribution. “Louisville is known for being a logistics hub, companies can move goods from Louisville to 80% of the world’s population in less than a day, and this exciting news positions Kentucky as a world leader in healthcare logistics,” says Beshear in a release.

Clinical Impact and Access

Dr Sarika Aggarwal, chief medical officer of Fast Pace Health, emphasized the facility’s potential to improve healthcare equity through expanded access to rapid diagnostic testing.

“By combining innovation with scale, HealthTrackRx is giving providers the confidence to make faster, more precise decisions that improve outcomes for patients and strengthen our public health response,” says Aggarwal in a release. “Just as importantly, Labport expands access to high-quality testing for rural communities and supports greater health equity—ensuring that no matter where patients live, they can benefit from fast answers and better care.”

The facility’s capabilities include surge testing capacity for outbreak response and antimicrobial resistance monitoring, supporting both routine clinical care and public health surveillance needs.

HealthTrackRx operates as an independent infectious disease laboratory, focusing on molecular diagnostics that enable faster treatment decisions and support antibiotic stewardship programs nationwide.
