The extended agreement through 2032 broadens commercial rights beyond the recently launched carrier screening kit to accelerate diagnostic innovation.

Bio-Techne Corp has expanded its collaboration with Oxford Nanopore Technologies, extending their partnership through 2032 and broadening Bio-Techne’s commercial rights to develop genetic testing products on Oxford Nanopore’s sequencing platforms.

The enhanced agreement builds on the successful launch of Bio-Techne’s AmplideX Nanopore Carrier Plus Kit in March 2025, streamlining development and commercialization of targeted enrichment sequencing kits for screening and diagnosing heritable genetic disorders.

The expanded collaboration grants Bio-Techne broader commercial rights to develop a genetics portfolio beyond the carrier screening kit and establishes a framework for defining future product portfolios. The partnership reinforces Bio-Techne’s diagnostics growth strategy while strengthening its relationship with Oxford Nanopore Technologies.

“This expanded agreement underscores our commitment to advancing genetic testing solutions that simplify workflows and deliver richer insights for laboratories worldwide,” says Matt McManus, president of the diagnostics and spatial biology segment of Bio-Techne, in a release. “By deepening our collaboration with Oxford Nanopore, we are accelerating innovation in diagnostics and creating a foundation for future portfolios.”

The collaboration combines Bio-Techne’s diagnostics expertise with Oxford Nanopore’s molecular sensing platform to develop genetic testing solutions aimed at making testing faster, simpler, and more accessible for laboratories.

“We’re pleased to expand our collaboration with Bio-Techne to bring new genetic testing solutions to laboratories worldwide,” says Rosemary Dokos, chief product and marketing officer of Oxford Nanopore Technologies, in a release. “By combining Bio-Techne’s diagnostics expertise and innovations with our advanced molecular sensing platform, together we can make testing faster, simpler, and more accessible.”
