The compact, fully automated hemostasis analyzers are designed for routine testing environments and as a reliable backup instrument in larger labs.
Sysmex’s CA-600 Series of automated blood coagulation analyzers is designed to meet the needs of low- to mid-volume clinical laboratories. The series, which includes the CA-620TM and CA-660TM models, provides a compact, automated solution for routine hemostasis testing.
Designed for facilities such as community hospitals, physician office labs, and freestanding emergency departments, the analyzers can function as a primary instrument or as a backup system in larger laboratory settings. The systems use scattered light detection technology for coagulation measurement. The CA-660 model expands on this capability by incorporating chromogenic and immunoturbidimetric methodologies, allowing for additional specialty testing like D-Dimer and thrombophilia assays.
“The CA-600 Series Automated Blood Coagulation Analyzers truly take the complexity out of coagulation testing,” says Katy Richards, group manager, hemostasis portfolio at Sysmex. “Their compact design and easy-to-use features make them the perfect fit for low- to mid-volume routine laboratories.”
A key advantage for labs within larger health networks is the system’s standardization. The CA-600 Series uses the same reagents, calibrators, and controls as Sysmex’s larger CS-SeriesTM and CN-SeriesTM analyzers, ensuring consistent results across different platforms.
Key Features & Benefits
The CA-600 Series includes several features designed to improve workflow efficiency and result integrity:
- Color LCD Touch Screen: Offers an intuitive interface to simplify operation and reduce training time.
- STAT Sampling Position: Allows for the immediate processing of urgent samples without disrupting the routine workflow.
- Barcode Reading: Automates sample and reagent identification to minimize manual entry errors and ensure sample traceability.
- Auto-Dilution: On the CA-660 model, this feature automatically handles samples with abnormal fibrinogen or D-Dimer levels, ensuring accurate measurement without manual intervention.
- Compact Footprint: The analyzer’s small size (22.5″ W x 19.5″ D) conserves valuable laboratory bench space.
Availability and Contact
The CA-600 Series is available from Sysmex America across the United States and Canada. The availability marks an expansion of Sysmex’s hemostasis portfolio in the Americas, where the company has more than four decades of experience supplying coagulation systems globally but has only recently begun selling hemostasis analyzers directly in these markets.
