The new high-density polyethylene (HDPE) acid digestion fume hood from Hemco Corp, Independence, Mo, is engineered specifically for extremely corrosive operations involving dissolution procedures for element analysis. The hoods feature a totally chemical resistant hood construction with a welded one-piece HDPE interior fume chamber, including hood walls, ceiling, worksurface, and rear drain trough. The exterior is also chemical resistant and is constructed of composite resin. Available in 48-inch, 60-inch, 72-inch, and 96-inch models, the series of fume hoods can be supplied with or without a built-in wash down system with rear drain trough. Fume hoods include a counterbalanced vertical sliding clear viewing sash in either polycarbonate, where hydrofluoric acid is being used or tempered glass for other applications, vapor-proof LED light fixture, pre-wired switch, and remote control water fixture with built-in spray nozzles if wash down is required.
