The acquisition combines clinical chemistry systems with new diagnostic test technologies.
Diazyme Laboratories Inc has acquired the business of Carolina Liquid Chemistries, a manufacturer and reseller of chemistry systems and reagents.
Headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina, Carolina Liquid Chemistries is a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) registered manufacturer. The company’s operations will be integrated into Diazyme, a medical device manufacturer based in Poway, California.
“Carolina Liquid Chemistries’ cost-effective and reliable products will complement Diazyme’s proprietary enzyme and immunoassay technologies, creating synergies that will benefit laboratories of all sizes,” says Dr Chong Yuan, managing director of Diazyme Laboratories, in a release. “This strategic acquisition positions us to enhance our diagnostic capabilities and deliver even more comprehensive solutions to reference and clinical laboratories and improve patient outcomes.”
Integrating Diagnostic Technologies
Diazyme uses proprietary enzyme and immunoassay technologies to develop diagnostic test reagents. These products are designed for use on automated chemistry analyzers and chemiluminescence instruments in user-friendly formats.
The acquisition allows Diazyme to combine its existing technology with Carolina Liquid Chemistries’ product line, which includes chemistry systems and reagents. Diazyme is a cGMP and ISO 13485 certified manufacturer, and the integration of Carolina Liquid Chemistries is intended to support the company’s ability to provide diagnostic solutions to reference and clinical laboratories.
