The Brownsburg campus will increase the company’s Indianapolis-area laboratory footprint by 40% when completed in early 2030.

Labcorp announced plans to build a new facility in Brownsburg, Indiana, to expand its central laboratory services operations and increase overall capacity for clinical trial support.

The new 50-acre campus will feature more than 500,000 square feet of laboratory and production space, expanding the company’s current Indianapolis facility footprint by 40%. Operations from Labcorp’s existing Indianapolis site will transition to the new facility.

The Brownsburg site will house central laboratory services, kit production operations, bioanalytical services, and the company’s Indianapolis Diagnostics branch. The facility is designed to incorporate automation, data analytics, and digital technologies to support clinical trial operations.

“This expansion marks an exciting new chapter for Labcorp’s central laboratories services,” says Megan Bailey, executive vice president and president of central laboratory services and international at Labcorp, in a release. “We’re investing in capabilities and resources to advance science, drive innovation and scale our operations to meet customer demand—ultimately enabling us to transform lab and clinical trial services by delivering more integrated, connected experiences for sponsors, sites and patients.”

Strategic Location Selected

Labcorp selected Brownsburg, located six miles from its current Indianapolis facility, for its proximity to major highways, Indianapolis International Airport, downtown Indianapolis, and key distribution centers.

Construction is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2026, with completion targeted for early 2030.

“Life sciences are growing as an important sector of the Indiana economy, and this significant investment by Labcorp is an exciting new development in that story that will create additional well-paying jobs,” says Indiana Governor Mike Braun, in a release.

Over the past five years, Labcorp CLS has supported more than 5,000 clinical trial protocols involving patients across more than 100 countries, according to a release from the company. The company operates five globally integrated laboratories in Indianapolis, Geneva, Singapore, Shanghai, and Kawagoe City.

The new facility aims to build on this foundation by using automation and smart lab technologies to deliver faster clinical insights for drug development programs.

“The decision by Labcorp to build their new central laboratory services facility in Brownsburg is a landmark moment for our community,” says Town Council President Ben Lacey, in a release. “We are proud to partner with a company dedicated to improving lives for people around the world.”
