The Diagnostics Division of Bayer HealthCare LLC, a member of the Bayer Group, recently announced the worldwide launch of its newest automated chemistry analyzer, the ADVIA® 1200 chemistry system. Designed to improve productivity and optimize lab efficiency, the fully automated ADVIA 1200 system meets the on-demand testing needs of small- and medium-sized laboratories.

The ADVIA 1200 complements the existing ADVIA suite of automated chemistry analyzers, including Bayer Diagnostics’ ADVIA 1650 and ADVIA 2400 systems. Based on identical technology and offering the same reliability embodied in other ADVIA chemistry instruments, the ADVIA 1200 system provides laboratories with standardization of reagents, software, and results across all ADVIA chemistry systems. Through its ability to process 1,200 tests per hour, the ADVIA 1200 system works as a stand-alone, part of a multisite lab strategy, or a backup analyzer to its ADVIA system siblings.

“This addition to Bayer’s portfolio of ADVIA analyzers meets a distinct need within the lab market,” says Tom Warekois, senior vice president of Global Strategic Marketing for the Diagnostics Division of Bayer HealthCare. “The release of the ADVIA 1200 analyzer empowers laboratories with the necessary flexibility to extend their chemistry testing regimes, satisfying their strategic testing objectives.”

The ADVIA 1200 system, with capacity for 44 methods, performs routine and special chemistry, specific protein, therapeutic drug monitoring, drugs of abuse, and toxicology tests for total workstation consolidation and efficiency.
