Biotecon Diagnostics, Potsdam, Germany, has launched its own Microproof SARS-CoV-2 screening/identification kits, which are available immediately for purchase and can be distributed globally.
“I am extremely proud of our team of scientific researchers and experts, who in a short space of time have managed to develop, manufacture, and market such high-quality real-time PCR tests for the qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2,” says Kornelia Berghof-Jäger, PhD, chief executive officer of Biotecon Diagnostics. “It is the latest addition to a whole coronavirus product portfolio we have aimed at expanding the availability of diagnostic testing and supporting the massively impacted healthcare systems.”
The Microproof SARS-CoV-2 screening/identification kits can be run on many commonly used real-time PCR instruments, including LightCycler480 II, Applied Biosystems 7500 Fast, and CFX96. The test returns results in less than 1.5 hours.
Microproof SARS-CoV-2 screening/identification kits are currently available for research use only, with CE marking and FDA emergency use authorization pending. The assays are based on reference methods from the World Health Organization.
