Integra Biosciences Corp, Hudson, NH, has expanded its Clear Advantage product line to include a divided reservoir, offering 5 mL and 10 mL volumes side by side, while still fitting comfortably in the company’s standard 25 mL reusable base.

A combination of design and innovation offers a pipetting experience with less reagent and plastic waste, and the lowest dead volume on the market, according to the company.

Each reservoir includes the company’s SureFlo anti-sealing array, which prevents tips from sealing off and causing liquid to ‘pop’ into tips, filters, or pipettes. This feature is enhanced with a specially formulated, inert, hydrophilic surface treatment that stops liquid from pooling and results in the reservoirs’ low dead volume.

The new design complements Integra’s multichannel Evolve manual pipettes, Viaflo electronic pipettes, and Voyager adjustable spacing pipettes. The eight-channel Voyager pipette is suited for aspirating from the 5 mL side, and then dispensing into a 96- or 384-well plate, providing significant benefits when working with expensive reagents, such as PCR master mix.

The reusable base has visible volume graduations for accurate filling, and each reservoir has pour-back spouts molded into the corners to enable convenient, spill-free return of unused reagent to the source container, offering reagent and cost savings. The reservoirs can also act as lids, preventing evaporation and spillage, and their space-saving, stackable design significantly reduces storage requirements.

The reservoir is available in both polystyrene and polypropylene for compatibility with a wide range of chemicals.
