The collaboration will provide automated narrative summaries and biomarker insights to reduce interpretation workload across laboratory disciplines.
LigoLab has announced a strategic partnership with Docus AI to integrate artificial intelligence (AI)-driven medical report interpretation into its laboratory information system platform, enabling medical laboratories to automatically convert complex test results into actionable insights for clinicians and patients.
The integration allows finalized results within LigoLab’s LIS platform to be automatically pushed to Docus.ai, which then generates narrative summaries and biomarker insights designed to reduce interpretation workload across all laboratory testing disciplines.
“Our partnership with Docus is a perfect fit for LigoLab’s vision of delivering the most advanced, connected, and intelligent LIS ecosystem in the industry,” says Suren Avunjian, CEO of LigoLab, in a release. “AI-enhanced reporting improves clarity, drives efficiency, and raises the standard of care.”
The partnership positions LigoLab to expand AI capabilities across its platform while providing Docus AI access to LigoLab’s network of partner laboratories throughout the US.
Automated Workflow Integration
The digital workflow integration is designed to work across multiple laboratory disciplines, automatically processing finalized results from LigoLab’s platform through Docus AI’s interpretation system. The AI platform converts raw test data into evidence-based recommendations and clinical reports that include differential diagnoses, follow-up recommendations, and care plans for physicians.
For patients, the system delivers simplified summaries that explain results in accessible language, aimed at improving health literacy and providing guidance on next steps.
“Through this integration, we gain access to LigoLab’s partner laboratories across the US, enabling them to convert lab results into actionable interpretations for both doctors and patients,” says Robert Sargsyan, CEO of Docus AI, in a release. “This saves time, improves decision-making, and empowers patients with a deeper understanding of their health.”
Platform Capabilities
LigoLab’s enterprise-grade laboratory information system includes integrated modules for anatomic pathology, clinical laboratory, molecular diagnostics, laboratory revenue cycle management, and direct-to-consumer lab testing. The company positions its platform as designed to scale laboratories operationally, clinically, and financially from a single system.
Docus AI’s platform focuses on converting laboratory data into clinical interpretations, generating reports that aim to improve communication between healthcare providers and patients while adding value to laboratory reporting services.
The partnership represents LigoLab’s continued investment in AI automation across its informatics platform, according to Avunjian. “This partnership underscores our dedication to advancing AI across the LigoLab platform, equipping our customers with the intelligence and automation they need to work faster, think smarter, and achieve more,” he says in a release.
