AP-Visions LLC, Marco Island, Fla, has released the xP/M pain management module, designed as a plug-in for the company’s xLab laboratory information system (LIS). The module features a user-friendly reporting package designed specifically for laboratories certified to perform high-complexity testing under the requirements of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988. AP-Visions laboratory customers who are currently performing moderate-complexity lab testing have the option of adding drugs of abuse and pain management reporting. Based on the MySQL database and compatible with Windows XP and above, the xLab LIS provides users with centralized order entry and result retrieval, with results sent automatically to electronic medical record systems or billing systems.
