The XR-Series features higher throughput and enhanced analytics to streamline daily laboratory operations.

Sysmex America has introduced the XR-Series, a hematology solution designed to assist laboratories with high-volume testing and workflow efficiency.

The system is centered on the XR-10 Automated Hematology Module, which is intended for high-complexity laboratories requiring speed, consistency, and dependable performance. The XR-Series builds upon the previous XN-Series by adding increased throughput and complementary solutions for daily operations.

Enhancements include a new white blood cell (WBC) differential reagent and 3D scattergram visualization. The XR-20 Automated Hematology Module also offers an optional WPC channel. According to the company, these updates provide insights that support result interpretation and improve flagging accuracy. The new reagent formulation is designed to allow greater separation of cell clusters in the WBC differential scattergram without sacrificing accurate flagging.

“The XR-Series reflects our commitment to helping laboratories work smarter without disrupting the workflows they depend on,” says Dan Zortman, CEO of Sysmex America, in a release. “By combining proven reliability, advanced analytics and the support of our award-winning service teams, the XR-Series analyzers help laboratories deliver the accuracy and precision clinicians rely on for outstanding patient care.”

For current users of Sysmex hematology systems, the transition is designed to be seamless as the series maintains the user interface and modular design of the XN-Series. Additionally, the XR-9000 configuration for high-volume laboratories integrates with other products to automate routine steps and increase efficiency across the laboratory.

The series is supported by the company’s service and support teams to assist laboratories in maintaining system performance and result confidence.
