Lighthouse Lab Services (LLS) has acquired Pathology Lab Solutions (PLS), a pathology-focused consulting and equipment company primarily servicing GI physician practices.
Founded in 2008, Pathology Lab Solutions helps physician practices establish in-office pathology labs by advising on the entire lab design, set-up, and ongoing compliance processes. According to Lighthouse, the move allows the company to strengthen its position as a laboratory consulting firm by providing a new pathology-specific management offering.
Lighthouse President and Founder Jon Harol says although LLS has primarily serviced the clinical pathology market, this acquisition now allows the company to better assist pathologists performing anatomic pathology.
“We are excited that the acquisition of Pathology Lab Solutions provides an opportunity for Lighthouse to offer its lab build, consulting, laboratory information system, and revenue cycle management services to the full spectrum of lab clients,” says Harol, who founded Lighthouse in 2003.
Lighthouse COO Ranee Guard echoes that sentiment, noting that the acquisition allows LLS to continue supporting the initiatives of its physician partners to bring laboratory, and now pathology services, closer to the patient for higher quality, lower cost diagnostic services.
Pathology Lab Solutions CEO Rod Glose says he’s excited to bring his company’s pathology-focused expertise to Lighthouse’s existing suite of services and to be able to offer clients more comprehensive support.
