Trek Diagnostic Systems, Cleveland, a global provider of clinical-diagnostic products for infectious diseases, has been acquired by Magellan Biosciences which is based in Chelmsford, Mass.
Trek will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Magellan and will continue to operate under the Trek brand name. All employees are expected to remain with the company.
Magellan’s president expects the move to significantly expand the company’s commercial presence in clinical diagnostics as the need for diagnostic tests will continue to grow as baby boomers age.
