The global diagnostics manufacturer plans to transform its West Virginia sales and distribution site into a manufacturing hub for next-generation diagnostic products.

Randox Laboratories US Ltd announced plans to expand its Jefferson County, WV, facility from a 48-person sales and distribution operation into a full-scale production laboratory, adding to the company’s 4.1 billion annually manufactured tests.

The expansion will position the Kearneysville facility as a key US hub for diagnostic manufacturing, enhancing Randox’s capacity to serve hospitals, laboratories, coroners’ offices, and food safety testing facilities across the nation and globally.

As a manufacturer of laboratory quality controls, Randox supplies over 100,000 laboratories that diagnose more than 370 million patients annually. The upgraded facility will produce next-generation diagnostic products and equipment once the expansion is complete.

“This expansion underscores the advantage Jefferson County offers as a base for high-tech manufacturing and international business,” says Krista Hoffman, executive director of the Jefferson County Development Authority, in a release. “We are committed to supporting Randox in its growth and helping to build a stronger cluster of advanced manufacturing and life sciences companies here.”

New Hiring Expected in 2026

The company expects to begin hiring for new roles in 2026, with positions ranging from skilled production and laboratory roles to research scientists and logistics specialists. Randox plans to announce more details on recruitment later this year.

The investment aligns with the Jefferson County Development Authority’s strategic focus on fostering high-growth, advanced industries that provide diverse job opportunities for local residents. The project will also create opportunities for local suppliers and service providers, strengthening the county’s manufacturing ecosystem.

“As a Jefferson County native, I am proud to see Randox growing right here at home,” says Miranda Day, operations manager at Randox US, in a release. “This expansion not only strengthens our ability to deliver world-class diagnostic solutions, but it also creates new opportunities for our community to play a role in advancing healthcare worldwide.”

The expansion represents Randox’s continued investment in US-based manufacturing capabilities as demand for diagnostic testing continues to grow across multiple sectors.
