YeastOne, a broth microdilution panel manufactured by this company, is the first FDA-cleared antifungal susceptibility test for Candida Sp.
The panel contains three antifungal agents — Fluconazole, Itraconazole and 5-Flucytosine, in a dried colorimetric format.
In addition to antifungal agents, the panel contains alamarBlue, which provides a distinct color change with metabolic activity. Yeast growth in antifungal solutions will be evident as the colorimetric growth indicator changes from blue (negative) to red (positive).
YeastOne allows laboratories to report susceptibility results 24 hours earlier than the reference methodology. Thus, patient intervention can occur sooner and therapy can be altered, if required.
Panels are stable at room temperature storage for a 24-month period from the date of manufacture.
