The calibrated controls and visual aids featured on the Leica RM2255 microtome precision specimen device make it easy to identify and duplicate an exact zero point or any measurable variable up to 8° on the x-y axis. The system allows users to move the blade holder laterally in order to use the entire surface of the blade edge without changing the clamping pressure to provide more convenience, precision, and stability. Fewer clamping levers permit easy access to the cutting area, and the smooth-running ergonomic handwheel features an integrated quick-lock mechanism that provides user safety. Additionally, the microtome base plate of the RM2255 has been strengthened for overall increased stability.
