Bio-Rad Laboratories Inc, Hercules, Calif, announced the availability of its product application guide (bulletin 5412A), which provides information on a number of applications for Bio Rad’s new ProteOn XPR36 protein interaction array system.

The system is a 6×6 multichannel surface plasmon resonance platform that enables automated analysis of up to 36 biomolecular interactions in one experiment. All of the advantages of the ProteOn system—high-throughput, speed, kinetic response—are multiplied for research that involves large, broad, and complex studies such as results of hybridoma screening and ranking data that are compared with epitope mapping, specificity analysis, cross-reactivity determination. In addition, multiplex analysis using XPR technology enables large amounts of complex data of being generated quickly so the data can be ready for comparison, seamlessly integrated, and easily categorized.

In this six-page application guide, four antibody characterization and development protocols that demonstrate the versatility of the ProteOn XPR36 system are briefly described. The protocols are hybridoma screening and ranking, epitope mapping, kinetic analysis of antibody-antigen specificity, and determination of cross-reactivity of antibodies used in multiplex assays.

Bulletin 5412A is available either from a local Bio-Rad sales office or can be downloaded from the Bio-Rad Laboratories Web site.
