The DB-2 and DB-3 Blood Tube Holder and Shield provides both protection and control for the transfer of blood from a syringe to blood drawing tubes. The shield provides protection from potential needle sticks and from droplets of blood that may be sprayed when the needle is withdrawn from the vacuum tube.
The design f the DB-2 allows for the selection of two sizes of tubes, pediatric and 12mm size, for a total of four different combinations of tubes; in particular, one pediatric tube, one pediatric tube and one 12mm tube, one 12mm tube and two 12mm tubes. Any of these combinations can be obtained by moving the DB-2’s selection arm.
The DB-3 holds three sizes of tubes, pediatric, 12mm and 16mm. The size of the DB-2 and DB-3 is 4 inches by 4 inches by ? inch thick and can be carried in a phlebotomy tray or point of care testing units.
