This system, for fluorescence differential display (FDD) for gene expression detection, features equivalent sensitivity to radioisotopic labeling. The FDD system includes the FMBIO II Fluorescence Imaging System, the RNAspectra Kit and the SA-43 Vertical Electrophoresis System.
The mRNA Differential Display (DD) technology identifies and clones differentially expressed genes. The RNAspectra Kits feature a generation of DD technology that uses FDD instead of radioactivity. They were developed with GenHunter Corp., Nashville, Tenn.
These kits, along with the SA-143 Vertical Electrophoresis System, have been optimized for use with this fluorescence imaging system. In addition, the kits come with the license to practice the DD process, and include everything necessary for FDD except Taq.
