Tumor marker assays include CA 19-9, CA 27.29, CA 15-3, and CA 125II. All RIA tumor marker kits are manufactured by Fujirebio Diagnostics, Inc.
This company also now offers a comprehensive line of endocrinology RIA kits from Adaltis (formerly BioChem Immunosystems). The Adaltis assays utilize the proven methods of both Immunoradiometric (IRMA-Magnetic Solid Phase) and Competitive Binding techniques. The assays contain high affinity antibodies for increased sensitivity and specificity compared with traditional methods.
The IRMA assays are performed when samples, calibrators, and controls are reacted with a mixture of monoclonal antibodies to specific antigen. This rapid and specific method requires no centrifugation. The concentration of antigen is directly proportional to the radioactivity bound to the separation reagent.
The competitive binding assays are based on standard coated tube methodology. Clinical assays include: C-Peptide, LH, Progesterone, Insulin, FSH, HCG, TSH, Prolactin, HGH and Estradiol. Reverse T3 and Renin are also available for research use only.
