Revvity is developing the T-SPOT A201, an automated platform for latent tuberculosis testing in high-volume labs, with planned launch in 2027 pending regulatory approval.


Revvity announced the development of the T-SPOT A201, an automated platform designed for latent tuberculosis (TB) detection in large-volume clinical laboratories.

The system is intended to provide laboratories with an automated workflow for the T-SPOT.TB assay. Built on the Auto-Pure 2400 liquid handler, the platform can process up to 384 samples during an 8-hour shift, according to the company.

Revvity states the platform requires 45 seconds of hands-on time per sample, which is the lowest of its current automation solutions. This design aims to help laboratories manage high volumes of samples driven by public health programs, immigration screening, and pre-treatment evaluations for immunosuppressive therapies.

“The T-SPOT A201 automation platform represents a significant step forward in making the benefits of T-SPOT.TB testing accessible at scale,” says Steven Hart, vice president and general manager of infectious disease diagnostics at Revvity, in a release. “Our development program is focused on delivering a solution that gives high-volume clinical labs the performance, workflow efficiency, and competitive economics they need.”

The platform is currently under development and not yet available for sale. Revvity targets a launch in the second half of 2027, subject to regulatory approval. Additional studies regarding the performance of the automation solutions are expected in the coming months, according to the press release.

Revvity will display its automation solutions at the Association for Diagnostics and Laboratory Medicine 2026 conference in Anaheim, California, from July 26 to 30.
