The new Arizona facility expands the company’s laboratory capacity and infrastructure to support growing molecular diagnostic test volumes and future operations.
Castle Biosciences announced the opening of its new laboratory and office facility in Scottsdale, Arizona. The diagnostics provider stated that the 55,000-square-foot site expands its operational footprint in the Phoenix metropolitan area to support growing test volumes and long-term operational growth.
The laboratory was designed to support expanding operations and features upgraded HVAC, IT, and security infrastructure. The company says that backup systems are installed to provide complete operational power redundancy.
“We’re excited to open our new Scottsdale facility and begin this next chapter for Castle as we expand operations in Arizona,” says Kristen Oelschlager, chief operating officer of Castle Biosciences, in a release. “This investment gives our teams additional space, infrastructure and capacity to support our work on behalf of patients and clinicians today as well as our anticipated growth in the future. We’re proud of the presence we’ve built in Arizona over the years and look forward to growing alongside the Scottsdale community.”
In addition to laboratory workspace, the location includes floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the McDowell Mountains, a fitness center, locker rooms, an on-site third-party café, and access to an outdoor courtyard and walking trails.
Regional Workforce and Testing Operations
Castle Biosciences employed more than 1,000 individuals across the US as of June 30, 2026, including approximately 220 staff members based in the greater Phoenix metropolitan and surrounding areas.
The company says that the new facility reflects its ongoing investment in Arizona laboratory operations, where it develops and performs molecular tests focused primarily on dermatologic and gastroenterological diseases, including tests such as DecisionDx-Melanoma, DecisionDx-SCC, and TissueCypher.
Castle Biosciences reported that the facility, located at 8667 E Hartford Drive within the 260-acre Perimeter Center business park, will host a grand opening celebration on Oct 6, 2026, with government officials and community leaders expected to attend.
