Sysmex CA-500 Series

Preferential processing of STAT samples

Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics, Deerfield, Ill, offers the Sysmex® CA-500 Series. Analyzers in the series are comprised of the CA-530 and CA-560 systems. The systems allow both clotting and chromogenic detection methods to be performed simultaneously. The analyzers offer preferential processing of STAT samples, have a built-in quality-control function, and allow analyzed data to be displayed or printed with reaction curves. The analyzers offer a variety of time-saving features, such as a touch screen interface. Analyzers in the series feature compact footprints and are designed as primary instruments for use in low-volume laboratories in need of a fully automated analyzer.

ACL TOP 500 CTS

Continous, 24/7 operation

Beckman Coulter, Fullerton, Calif, in partnership with Instrumentation Laboratory, offers the ACL TOP 500 CTS (closed-tube sampling) hemostasis analyzer, the newest addition to the family of ACL TOP systems. The analyzer provides clotting, chromogenic and immunoturbidimetric testing capabilities with a complete menu of routine and specialty assays. Its LED-based clot detection allows it to read clot-based assays at 671 nm, which helps minimize the effects of most preanalytical variables. The analyzer can provide continuous operation without workflow interruption. It can hold 800 cuvettes and deliver throughput of up to 240 tests per hour. Additional features include automated cap piercing and prothrombin time (PT) reporting in 3 minutes or less.

Sysmex CA-7000 System

Includes integrated centrifuge feature

The fast Sysmex® CA-7000 system coagulation analyzer, from Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics, Deerfield, Ill, can deliver roughly 480 results per hour when testing PT and aPTT. It utilizes complete random-access capabilities and second-generation cap piercing, as well as continuous loading of samples, reagents, and reaction tubes without workflow interruption. The system can run clotting, chromogenic, and immunologic assays simultaneously and offers a number of built-in features, such as automatic repeat, redilution, reflex testing, and multidilution analysis (MDA). The system also features a compact footprint that includes integrated centrifuge for controlled, standardized handling of both clinical chemistry and coagulation samples. Intelligent, automatic routing of samples reduces hands-on time and a customizable preanalytical and postanalytical sample sorting option provides users with increased flexibility.
