GAP® Microwell ELISA kits quantitatively measure circulating IgG, IgM and IgA antibodies to Helicobacter pylori in serum. Numerous studies have found a correlation between H. pylori infection and chronic gastritis, peptic ulcers, gastric lesions, and gastric cancer.
The GAP IgM kit is a viable alternative to endoscopy, which is more expensive, uncomfortable, labor-intensive, and sometimes fails to detect H. pylori infection due to the patchy growth nature of the organism. The GAP IgM ELISA test is quantitative and has sufficient reagents to run 44 patient samples in duplicate either manually or in full microplate automation. The kit has a shelf life of 12 months, and can be run in parallel with the company’s GAP IgG and GAP IgA ELISA kits.
