D Craig Allred, MD, has joined Clarient Pathology Services as the company’s medical director of Biopharma Services. A certified anatomic pathologist, Allred pioneered translational research into the development and prognosis of premalignant breast disease and predictive biomarkers in invasive breast cancer. He is the namesake for the Allred score, an industry standard method for scoring Estrogen Receptor (ER) and Progesterone Receptor (PR) immunohistochemistry markers.
In his new role, Allred will interpret clinical cases, offer medical guidance, and oversee current research and development projects. He previously helped create healthcare guidelines and policies for the National Comprehensive Cancer Network served as professor and director of breast pathology at Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis, Mo.
