The partnership aims to expand access to blood-based prognostic testing for neurodegenerative conditions in clinical settings.
Seed Healthcare led a strategic investment in Diadem to support the US commercialization of a blood-based diagnostic technology for the early detection of Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative conditions.
As the lead investor, Seed Healthcare will hold two seats on the board of directors for Diadem, an Italian diagnostics company based in Milan. The investment is intended to help expand access to blood-based testing that can be integrated into routine clinical care within the US.
Prognostic Technology and Clinical Validation
Diadem is developing AlzoSure Predict, a prognostic technology designed to identify individuals at risk of progressing to Alzheimer’s disease years before clinical symptoms appear. The platform has received Breakthrough Device Designation from the Food and Drug Administration and carries CE-IVD marking in Europe.
The technology has been clinically validated across more than 900 patient samples. According to a release from Seed Healthcare, the platform offers a scalable alternative to existing diagnostics for neurological care.
“Improving prognosis through early detection is one of the biggest opportunities to improve outcomes in Alzheimer’s disease,” says Todd Perman, CEO and general partner of Seed Healthcare, in a release. “Diadem has developed a platform with the potential to make earlier identification more accessible and practical. We believe the company is well positioned to become a critical part of the future of neurological care.”
Commercial Readiness and Adoption
With clinical and regulatory milestones achieved, Diadem is currently focused on commercial readiness and broader adoption of the platform. The partnership combines Diadem’s scientific progress with Seed Healthcare’s commercialization expertise to help clinicians identify patients earlier and support clinical decisions.
“Seed Healthcare brings more than capital,” says Paul Kinnon, chairman of the board for Diadem, in a release. “Seed’s experience building healthcare businesses and supporting commercialization makes them the right partner as we expand our presence in the United States and continue advancing our platform.”
Seed Healthcare’s portfolio includes companies focused on disease detection, precision diagnostics, and technologies that support proactive healthcare.
