The joint solution allows pathologists to view and manage whole-slide images directly from the laboratory information system environment.
LigoLab and PathPresenter announced a strategic partnership to integrate PathPresenter‘s US Food and Drug Administration 510(k) cleared clinical viewer into LigoLab’s laboratory information system (LIS) platform, creating a unified digital pathology workflow for pathology practices.
The integration allows pathologists to view, manage, and interpret whole-slide images using a viewer launched directly from the LigoLab environment. The companies say this eliminates the need to navigate between separate systems, potentially reducing workflow bottlenecks and improving turnaround times.
“By integrating the PathPresenter viewer with our LIS platform, we’ve created a unified environment where pathologists can move effortlessly from case data to high-resolution whole slide images,” says Suren Avunjian, chief executive officer of LigoLab, in a release. “This seamless integration is fully contextual, driving efficiency, improving accuracy, and ultimately benefiting both the lab and the patients and clients it serves.”
AI Marketplace Integration
The solution includes access to an AI marketplace of plugins that enables laboratories to integrate advanced algorithms and diagnostic support tools directly within their workflow. According to the companies, this provides laboratories with a platform that can adapt to future developments in pathology.
“What makes this even more exciting is that it’s only the beginning, as the solution offers an AI marketplace of plugins that will enable labs to tap into advanced algorithms and tools directly within their workflow,” says Avunjian in a release. “From diagnostic support to operational automation, we’re giving laboratories a flexible platform that evolves with the future of pathology.”
Addressing Digital Pathology Adoption
The partnership targets growing demand for digital pathology adoption as laboratories seek solutions to improve productivity, support remote collaboration, and prepare for artificial intelligence advances. PathPresenter’s image viewing technology is embedded within LigoLab’s integrated LIS and revenue cycle management platform.
“Seamless integration between a clinical viewer and the LIS is essential for any pathology practice seeking to optimize workflow and capture the best return on their investment in modern tools,” says Patrick Myles, chief executive officer of PathPresenter, in a release. “Our partnership with LigoLab, with our shared focus on interoperability, allows us both to move quickly to increase efficiency for our shared customers and unlock the full potential of innovative new AI algorithms.”
The joint LIS-image management solution is immediately available for pathology practices seeking to modernize their operations, according to the companies.
