Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics will bring its microbiology automation portfolio into action at the upcoming American Society of Microbiology (ASM) General Meeting, Denver, May 19 to May 21. The exhibit experience includes automation demonstrations every half hour throughout the show.

Featured are the Copan WASP: Walk Away Specimen Processor and WASPLab System, a barcode-driven, conveyor-connected specimen processing device employing robotic plate management and image analysis, along with the Bruker MALDI Biotyper System for microorganism identification. Also highlighted is the LabPro-MBT4, a middleware platform that integrates data from the Bruker system and panel data from Siemens’ MicroScan WalkAway System, which includes automated susceptibility results known for detecting emerging bacterial resistance. Attendees can also observe the Siemens Tissue Preparation Solution in-action, the first fully automated method for extracting DNA and RNA from formalin-fixed, paraffin embedded tissue samples.
