Verichem Laboratories is offering labs the Tru-Zero Bilirubin Standard as part of its line of liquid-stable and protein-based total and direct Bilirubin clinical reference materials. The availability of this product is aimed at addressing the needs of many medical laboratory professionals, including those involved with routine clinical testing, medical diagnostic R&D applications, and in the manufacturing of in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) products.

With a verified concentration level of 0.0 mg/dL for both Total and Direct Bilirubin assays, the standard is intended to be treated as a patient specimen and features universal instrument compatibility, making them available for use on a wide assortment of wet chemistry systems from Abbott, Advanced Instruments, Beckman Coulter, Roche, and Siemens, among many others. Verichem’s Tru-Zero Bilirubin Standard incorporates a proprietary stabilization process, which eliminates the need for azides, glycols, or surfactants. The product features an exceptional refrigerated open-vial product stability claim of five days; with a shelf-life of 14 months when stored at 2 to 8 °C. In addition, it is supplied ready-to-use and requires no special reconstitution or dilution procedures.

The Tru-Zero Bilirubin Standard is filled in amber serum vials, with rubber-lined closures for added security, with each containing five milliliters (5.0mL) of material; and with each kit containing two vials. When used in conjunction with Verichem’s five-level Bilirubin Standard Kit and the Bilirubin Standard-Level F it becomes part of an all-encompassing set of Total and Direct Bilirubin Standard Materials in full CLIA compliance for calibration verification testing.

For close to four decades, Verichem Labs has served the clinical laboratory testing and in-vitro diagnostic R&D and Manufacturing markets with a comprehensive line of clinical reference materials, calibration verification products, chemistry standards, linearity confirmation materials, and support services—including online data reduction and comprehensive test reports for full CLIA compliance.
