Verichem Laboratories, Providence, RI, has released a ready-to-use, liquid stable kit intended for the calibration, and calibration verification, of both ion-selective electrode (ISE) and colorimetric testing systems. The five-level multianalyte set of reference materials (chloride, lithium, potassium, and sodium) is expressly designed to be treated as patient systems for use with the intended measuring system.

The ISE standard kit comes in a ready-to-use, liquid stable format that is free of azide, glycols, surfactants, and other interfering substances. The product’s unique matrix formulation, set point design, and equidistant target concentration meet the requirements of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 for verification materials with known values for the determination of a clinical system’s accuracy, sensitivity, linearity, and reportable range.

Each ISE standard kit is ergonomically boxed and contains a five-level set, with 15.0 mL of material at each level, along with a certificate of analysis. The materials are packaged in easy-to-use, translucent polyethylene dropper vials and offer an exceptional shelf-life stability claim of 18 months when stored at temperatures of 2° C to 8° C.
