The collaboration combines CAP/CLIA-certified molecular testing with ICH-compliant stability storage and biorepository services.
Carolina Molecular Inc and Astoriom announced a partnership to provide integrated molecular testing and biospecimen storage services for contract research organizations, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology companies.
The collaboration combines Carolina Molecular’s CAP/CLIA-certified and New York State-registered molecular testing capabilities with Astoriom’s ICH-compliant stability storage and CAP-certified biorepository services across the US, EU, and UK.
Carolina Molecular offers NGS Foundry services and bioinformatic analysis, while Astoriom provides ultra-low and cryogenic temperature storage solutions. The partnership aims to streamline workflows from sample receipt and storage through advanced molecular analysis.
“By combining our cutting-edge molecular testing with Astoriom’s world-class storage capabilities, we’re streamlining logistics and providing an end-to-end solution at a time when operational efficiency is more critical than ever,” says Trent Carrier, president of Carolina Molecular, in a release.
The integrated approach addresses logistics challenges facing CROs and pharmaceutical partners by offering a single-source solution for sample management and molecular testing needs while maintaining sample integrity and regulatory compliance.
Supporting Innovation Through Collaboration
Both Research Triangle Park, North Carolina-based companies emphasize their focus on accelerating research and development timelines through improved operational efficiency.
“Our collaboration with Carolina Molecular is a great example of that approach; their testing expertise and our trusted biorepository and stability storage capabilities create seamless solutions for customers,” says Lori A Ball, CEO of Astoriom, in a release. “As we continue to respond to our customer needs, partnerships like this allow us to better serve life sciences teams who are pushing boundaries in discovery and development.”
Carolina Molecular brings more than 25 years of experience in molecular testing services to the partnership. The company’s laboratory services include next-generation sequencing and bioinformatics analysis capabilities.
Astoriom operates biorepository and stability storage facilities across multiple global markets, providing temperature-controlled storage solutions for biological samples and pharmaceutical products.
The partnership targets organizations requiring both molecular testing and long-term sample storage capabilities as part of their research and development workflows. Clients can access both services through a coordinated approach designed to reduce handling steps and potential sample degradation.
