The company is pursuing reimbursement for lung cancer diagnostics and reporting progress in liquid biopsy and veterinary assays.

VolitionRx Limited announced progress across its epigenetic product pillars during its second quarter 2026 business update, including active technology evaluations and licensing discussions with more than 12 diagnostic and liquid biopsy firms. The company is seeking arrangements that include upfront milestone payments, royalties, and other recurring revenue.

“We have made strong progress across all of our product pillars throughout 2026 to date,” says Cameron Reynolds, president and CEO of Volition, in a release. “Discussions are at various stages of the negotiation process across our different pillars with our laser focus on executing further licensing agreements.”

Clinical and Diagnostic Partnerships

The company highlighted its collaboration with Sysmex Corporation, a specialist in in vitro diagnostics for hemostasis and thrombosis. The partnership focuses on conditions where neutrophil extracellular traps (NETS) play a significant role.

In the clinical sector, Volition is working with the Hospices Civils de Lyon in France on a reimbursement submission for the Nu.Q Lung Cancer test. Reimbursement is considered the final step before the test enters routine clinical practice.

“Reimbursement is the last step on the path to the first use of Nu.Q in routine clinical practice, an exciting prospect which is core to Volition’s mission, using our tests to help save lives,” says Reynolds in a release.

Veterinary and Research Milestones

In May 2026, the company submitted a clinical manuscript for peer review regarding its Nu.Q Vet feline prototype assay. The study reports high accuracy in detecting lymphoma in cats. A successful peer-reviewed publication of this study is expected to trigger a $5 million contractual milestone payment and may expand the market for the veterinary platform.

Volition also reported the publication of its first peer-reviewed paper regarding its Capture-Seq liquid biopsy technology. The company estimates the total addressable market for its technologies at more than $27 billion across all product pillars on an annualized basis.

“Volition has made strong progress, both clinically and commercially, and our technology is now poised to be used very widely in a broad range of clinical utilities,” says Reynolds in a release.

Volition maintains research and development activities in Belgium, an innovation laboratory in the US, and an office in London.
