pn04.jpg (7224 bytes)SAS Adeno Test is a qualitative rapid immunoassay for the detection of Adenovirus antigen from eye swabs, nasal and pharyngeal secretions and fecal material.
The SAS Rapid Immunochromatographic Assay-based test uses a combination of monoclonal and polyclonal antibody reagents to detect Adenovirus.
[gate][/gate]     The assay is conducted by the addition of a specimen into the test device sample well and observing the formation of colored lines. A positive specimen reacts with the specific antibody-colored conjugate, and forms a line in the S (specimen) area of the membrane. Absence of this colored line suggests a negative result. The control, a colored line in the C (control) area, appears regardless of the presence or absence of Adenovirus.
Buffer and extraction tubes are provided in the kit, and the results are available within 10 minutes. Each kit is packaged with 20 tests, and can be stored at room temperature. To run the test, the sample is mixed with the extraction buffer, four drops are placed in the device, and results can then be read. When reading, one line indicates negative and two lines indicate positive. SA Scientific
