photoThe immunosimplicity Measles IgG Test Kit for the semi-quantitative detection of antibodies to the measles (Rubella) virus has been manufactured and FDA-cleared for use on this company’s Mago Plus Automated EIA Processor or for manual use.
The color-coded reagents provide test results in 90 minutes at three room-temperature incubations. The standard 96-microwell plate format adapts to large-volume laboratories and can be batch-tested concurrently with other ELISA kits. The breakapart strip format allows for small-volume lab flexibility.
The procedure requires minimal hands-on time. A colored end-product, measured spectrophotometrically, yields objective results expressed as the concentration of antibody in the sample relative to that of a known calibrator. Evaluation of paired sera to determine a significant increase in measles IgG antibody titer can aid in the diagnosis of acute infection by detecting seroconversion.
Using sera from 204 normal blood donors, this measles IgG test kit had a sensitivity of 94.8 percent, a specificity of 98.1 percent and an overall agreement of 98.3 percent relative to another commercially available measles IgG ELISA kit.
