Dawning Technologies Inc now offers its new JavaLin/300 clinical interface, an extension of the company’s JavaLin interface line. The new version is a Linux-based unit with application software written in Java, and contains a more powerful CPU board design than earlier JavaLin models. The JavaLin/300 has a 586-class processor with 128 Mb RAM standard, allowing the unit to serve as many as three analyzers, further decreasing the cost and footprint of serving instruments.
The JavaLin/300 runs an embedded version of Dawning’s JResultNet interface engine software, allowing it to directly communicate using the HL7 and ASTM industry-standard protocols. Complete message-mapping tools are included, so the message structure can be specifically tailored to the needs of individual customers, instruments, and LIS systems. In addition, the JResultNet software onboard includes rule-based processing capabilities for a variety of custom data functions, including range checks, the ability to add standard comments in certain data conditions, special data filtering, mapping, and reformatting.
