sl01.jpg (10824 bytes)A new online continuing education program called the MDxS (Molecular Diagnostic Services) Continuing Education Program has been designed for clinical laboratory professionals. Upon completing the CD-ROM-based coursework, students can take a certification exam by logging onto the Web site. Each test is scored upon completion, allowing users to print a certificate of completion that includes their continuing education credit.
     The CD-ROM courses are free to all qualified medical technicians. Students can take a test by logging on to the Web site, http://Roche.
     MDxS.Certification.Net. Purchases can be made via credit card at a cost of $15 per credit or $90 for a six-credit test. Companies can purchase online test vouchers for their employees. Initial subjects include Genetics (6 credits), Molecular technology (6 credits), and Regulatory Education (4 credits).
     The courses are designed to meet the requirements of both Continuing Medical Laboratory Education (CMLE) and Professional Acknowledgement for Continuing Education (P.A.C.E. program), a division of the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS).
