The FDA-cleared Personal Cholesterol Monitor, which uses Windows Powered Smart Cards, is a home cholesterol-testing device with embedded Smart Card reader.
The hand-held monitor allows consumers to securely store test results and share the results with medical care providers.
Using a drop of blood on a test strip, the monitor provides results in three minutes. It is an accurate way to detect and manage disease by integrating diagnostic tests, Smart Cards and the Internet. Consumers can measure their cholesterol at home between doctor visits to know whether their cholesterol-lowering diet, drug and exercise therapies are working.
Up to 200 test results can be downloaded and stored on the Data Concern Smart Card which comes with the unit.
