The OSHA Self-Assessment: The COLA Guide to Complying with the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Regulations available from this organization was created as an educational publication to assist physicians and their staff in implementing 1991 bloodborne pathogen requirements of OSHA. The updated guide is to includes details from the revised directive from OSHA, which was published November 5, 1999.
     The booklet is designed to be used as a self-assessment tool to evaluate current office precautionary practices and procedures for minimizing occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens and to identify improvements that can be made in light of the most recent directive from OSHA.
