photo This Magnetic HDL is available in a unit dose format for the rapid separation and quantitative determination of HDL cholesterol on Vitros analyzers. Packaged in pre-filled 250µL tubes, this single dose product is classified as a moderately complex method.
The HDL is quickly isolated by selectively precipitating LDL and VLDL using a magnetically responsive reagent containing dextran sulphate (50,000 MW) and magnesium chloride. The application of a magnetic field to the mixture pulls away precipitated lipoproteins, leaving only HDL in the supernatant.
This proprietary separation technology is unaffected by high triglycerides. The Magnetic HDL precipitating Reagent has been demonstrated to provide a complete separation on sera with elevated triglyceride concentrations up to 2,000mg/dL without dilution.
The Magnetic Unitized Reagent is compatible with commercially available cholesterol and HDL assay systems. The Magnetic Unitized HDL has been validated against the bulk magnetic reagent with a coefficient correlation of .995.
