The American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) will host an upcoming Webinar titled, “Making Proficiency Testing Work for You – 2011.”
Proficiency testing (PT) is once more becoming a hot issue in the lab community as CMS and CDC work on updating CLIA’s PT requirements. Potential changes include an expansion of the list of regulated analytes, new PT grading criteria, and a new mechanism for determining which analytes should be added or dropped from the regulated list.
During the Webinar, CLIA’s administrator will provide an update on the upcoming proposed PT rule, while a laboratorian who has worked on CAP’s Chemistry Resources Committee discusses new trends in proficiency testing and provides advice on how to best use PT as a quality management tool.
