The HLR-6 rotor for RC-3 Series blood processing centrifuges is the only one with buckets designed to accommodate Pall Leukotrap RC1 and RC PL2 blood bag systems with in-line filters. The HLR-6 bucket holds 450 to 550 ml draw volumes with additive solution. A conversion kit allows users of Sorvall H-6000A and HBB-6 rotors to upgrade to the HLR-6 rotor configuration.
Blood centers challenged with demands for safer blood products are increasingly using blood bags with in-line leuko-reduction filters. The HLR-6 rotor buckets with their (patent pending) “back-packs,” allow filters to be loaded away from blood bag sets.
