The new platform offers three-tiered approach to help laboratories at different stages of data maturity extract actionable insights from operational data.

Elemental Machines has launched a new business intelligence platform designed to help clinical laboratories convert operational data into actionable insights through a flexible, multitiered analytics approach.

The Cambridge, Mass-based company’s platform addresses the growing need for scalable analytics solutions as laboratory-generated data volumes and complexity continue to increase. The system enables users to analyze millions of data points ranging from individual equipment readings to enterprise-wide performance trends.

“Scientific progress depends on more than just the data you collect; it depends on what you can do with it,” says Sridhar Iyengar, PhD, founder and chief strategy and technology officer at Elemental Machines, in a release. “With our business intelligence platform, we’re helping labs transition from raw data collection to creating a real-world operational impact—whether that means increasing equipment uptime, reducing costs, or making better, more informed decisions, faster.”

Three-Tiered Platform Structure

The platform uses a three-tiered model designed to support laboratories at different stages of business intelligence maturity. This approach is designed to allow organizations to select analytics capabilities that match their current infrastructure, size, and operational goals.

The three-tiered model:

  • Tier 1: Elemental Machines’ Core Platform — Real-time alerts, configurable operational dashboards, compliance-ready reporting, and visual floor plans for immediate operational awareness
  • Tier 2: Data Insights — Performance trend analysis, dynamically customizable dashboards, predictive equipment health scores, and asset utilization optimization
  • Tier 3: Data Transfer for Enterprise Integration — Integrate Elemental Machines’ data with your own enterprise BI tools (eg, Snowflake, BigQuery, Tableau, Power BI) for advanced analytics, AI/ML applications, and cross-site visibility

“Our goal is to meet every customer where they are, whether they’re just starting to automate compliance reports or building enterprise-wide digital twins,” says Andrew Eberle, senior director of customer solutions at Elemental Machines, in a release. “The platform adapts to each lab’s size, infrastructure, and goals. This helps teams scale their data usage without overcomplicating their workflow.”

The system is currently being used by laboratories to monitor asset usage, identify anomalies early in operational processes, and support lab operations teams in delivering more efficient and reliable outcomes.

The new business intelligence platform is available immediately.
