The research-use-only platform combines imaging, software, and multiplex protein analysis into a standard 96-well workflow designed to simplify biomarker research.


Pictor Holdings introduced its next-generation high-resolution platform at the Association for Diagnostics and Laboratory Medicine (ADLM) 2026 meeting, featuring the new PictImager. The platform is designed to support scalable targeted protein analysis in research laboratories by integrating the PictArray, PictImager, and Pictorial software into a workflow based on standard 96-well laboratory formats.

The debut marks a commercialization milestone as the company begins beta-site engagement before a planned full commercial launch later in 2026. According to the company, the platform addresses barriers to adoption in translational research, biomarker discovery, and drug development, such as workflow complexity and specialized instrumentation.

“Our goal has always been to make targeted protein analysis practical for more laboratories. The new PictImager is an important milestone in that strategy, bringing improved imaging capability into a workflow designed for scalable targeted analysis,” says Jamie Platt, PhD, CEO and co-founder of Pictor Holdings, in a release.

The PictImager builds on earlier imaging systems with an updated design for improved usability and imaging capability. The system is intended for research use only and supports multiple sample types, including serum, plasma, saliva, milk, cerebrospinal fluid, and nasal swabs.

The integrated platform is designed to support research applications including biomarker research, immune profiling, oncology research, vaccine response, and longitudinal biomarker monitoring.

“For labs, adoption comes down to workflow fit, reliability, and economics, not just technical capability. The new PictImager was built around that reality: practical for everyday lab operations, personalized to the panel and workflow, and plug-and-play for easier deployment,” says Janine McMurdie, chief commercial officer of Pictor Holdings, in a release.

The introduction follows the publication of peer-reviewed research in the Journal of Immunological Methods comparing the performance of the targeted proteomic assay for extractable nuclear antigens in autoimmune disease research against established commercial testing platforms.

Pictor is also advancing its Pictorial software to support automated image analysis, signal extraction, and workflow reporting across the integrated platform. ADLM attendees can view the system during live demonstrations at the Pictor booth.
