The O-Cyte 1 system uses artificial intelligence to provide cellular evidence alongside routine blood results.


Ozelle launched the O-Cyte 1 automated hematology analyzer at the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (ADLM) 2026 meeting in Anaheim, California. The system uses artificial intelligence (AI) and complete blood morphology (CBM) technology to integrate image-based intelligence into routine laboratory workflows.

The O-Cyte 1 is designed to provide visible cellular evidence alongside routine results. By converting cell images into structured morphology insight, the system aims to improve consistency, visibility, and operational efficiency as clinical workloads grow.

The analyzer supports up to 60 tests per hour as a standalone unit. For laboratories with higher volumes, the system can be expanded to process up to 360 tests per hour. Its design includes consumable-contained fluidics and a modular architecture intended to reduce the daily maintenance burden for staff in hospitals, health screening centers, and regional diagnostic networks.

“Built on AI × CBM, O-Cyte 1 marks an important step in Ozelle’s vision for the fourth generation of hematology analysis, combining morphology intelligence, productivity, and operational simplicity in a compact hematology system,” reads a release from the company.

The launch reflects a shift toward systems designed for real-world clinical environments, according to the company. By combining imaging and automation, Ozelle aims to make morphology intelligence more accessible and scalable across different settings.

At the meeting, the company also presented other additions to its clinical hematology portfolio. These include integrated multi-test diagnostic systems that combine hematology, immunoassay, and biochemistry capabilities, as well as compact 7-Diff hematology analyzers that feature cell imaging and simplified maintenance.
