The strategic collaboration with LifeStrands Genomics aims to broaden access to advanced molecular diagnostics across Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.
Mayo Clinic Laboratories and Pathology Asia Holdings have announced a strategic investment and collaboration to expand access to advanced diagnostics and precision medicine across Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.
The agreement deepens an existing relationship between the organizations, combining Mayo Clinic’s diagnostic and clinical resources with the regional footprint and laboratory network of Pathology Asia Holdings and its genomics subsidiary, LifeStrands Genomics. As part of the partnership, William Morice II, MD, PhD, president and CEO of Mayo Clinic Laboratories, has been appointed scientific adviser to PAH.
“Healthcare providers across Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand are increasingly seeking advanced diagnostic solutions to guide patient care,” says William Morice II, MD, PhD, president and CEO of Mayo Clinic Laboratories, in a release. “Our collaboration with [Pathology Asia Holdings] and LifeStrands Genomics reflects our commitment to a long-term strategic relationship that unites complementary strengths in laboratory diagnostics and genomics. Through this collaboration, we are bringing advanced diagnostic capabilities closer to patients and equipping healthcare providers with the insights needed to deliver personalized care.”
Expanding Access to Molecular and Genomic Testing
Genomics serves as the primary focus of the joint effort and will be delivered regionally through LifeStrands Genomics. The collaboration will expand access to advanced molecular and genomic testing across Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, with clinical applications covering the identification of genetic conditions, disease risk assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
In select markets, LifeStrands Genomics will operate under the brand name “LifeStrands in collaboration with Mayo Clinic Laboratories.” Beyond testing services, the organizations plan to conduct joint scientific initiatives, educational programs, and thought leadership projects to support the integration of clinical genomics into routine patient care.
“Mayo Clinic Laboratories’ investment marks an important milestone in our relationship and a strong foundation for the next phase of diagnostic innovation across the region,” says Christopher Ting, MD, founder and CEO of Pathology Asia Holdings, in a release. “Combining Mayo Clinic Laboratories’ global clinical and scientific expertise with PAH’s regional diagnostic capabilities and network will enable us to broaden access to advanced testing and increase access to genomics and precision medicine capabilities across Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.”
