It is designed for high-workload laboratories and can cover a throughput of more than three million clinical and immunoassay tests per year. One cobas modular analyzer series configuration consists of a core unit, an ISE module, and up to four of the following analytical modules: cobas c 701, a high-throughput clinical chemistry module; cobas c 502, a midvolume throughput clinical chemistry module; and cobas e 602, an immunoassay module. Combinations of these modules offer 24 configurations that provide tailored solutions to meet the needs of individual laboratories. Offers blood gas and critical care test menus
Using a combination of advanced optical and electrode technology, the Stat Profile® pHOx® series analyzers from Nova Biomedical, Waltham, Mass, offer blood gas and critical care test menus in the smallest analyzers currently available. The six-test Stat Profile pHOx menu includes pH, PCO2, and PO2, in addition to measured hematocrit, hemoglobin, and oxygen saturation, to provide a complete picture of lung function and oxygen status. Stat Profile pHOx Plus adds glucose, sodium, potassium, and a choice of chloride or ionized calcium, resulting in a critical care menu in a small instrument. Stat Profile pHOx Plus C offers both chloride and ionized calcium. Stat Profile pHOx Plus L menu includes lactate.

The system features an extensive menu that allows integration of testing for clinical chemistry, drugs-of-abuse, therapeutic drug monitoring, and specific proteins like Cystatin C and CardioPhase® hsCRP. The system offers a throughput of 1,800 tests per hour; 200 basic metabolic panels per hour; automatic sample retain technology to perform reruns and dilutions without the need to retrieve primary tubes; large onboard refrigerated reagent capacity and optional concentrated reagents to reduce interruptions; and sample integrity checking, including serum indices reporting, short sample flagging, and clot detection.

Sirrus automatically reads and manages bar coded reagent bottles and sample tubes. The analyzer operates on Windows®-based software. The system can run 400 tests per hour. Dual reagent probes and a dedicated sample probe translate into higher throughput and faster patient turnaround time. The increased efficiency and use of reusable cuvettes translate into lower cost.

Individual tests include pH, PCO2, PO2, SO2%, hematocrit, hemoglobin, sodium, potassium, chloride, ionized calcium, ionized magnesium, glucose, BUN, creatinine, lactate, and bilirubin. CCX can provide a full 20-test profile from a single 210-µL sample in 2 minutes. CCX offers a number of innovative time- and labor-saving features, including automated maintenance; snap-in sensor and reagent cartridges; and onboard, automated controls. Integrated onboard data-management software allows data capture, manipulation, and reporting, and simplifies regulatory compliance.
