To expand its product offerings, San Diego-based Calbiotech has acquired Moduline Systems, a Sacramento-based manufacturer of microplate-dispensing and vial-filling equipment. Moduline was founded in 1994, and first partnered with Calbiotech in 1998.

According to Calbiotech’s announcement of the acquisition, the two companies will maintain distinct operations while under the same management and leadership. The founders of Moduline Systems have been retained to ensure continuity of operations. Calbiotech previously acquired Meridian Life Sciences, now Calbiotech Veterinary Diagnostics.

Calbiotech has been developing immunoassay products for use in research centers, universities, and reference labs since 1997. The company specializes in ELISA, ultrasensitive chemiluminescent ELISA, radioimmunoassay, and PCR kits for IVD, RUO, and ASR applications. For more information, visit Calbiotech
