The deal adds a specialty laboratory focused on drug testing and surveillance to Labcorp’s national network.
Labcorp has completed its acquisition of Millennium Health, an accredited specialty laboratory with more than 15 years of experience in drug testing and surveillance.
Millennium Health provides insights into patients’ recent use of prescription medications and/or illicit drugs. Clinicians use that information to monitor and treat people living with chronic pain, substance use disorders, mental health conditions, and other health needs. Labcorp says the acquisition is intended to expand access to toxicology testing nationwide and to provide clinical insights that support these patient populations.
“The completion of this acquisition marks an important step in strengthening Labcorp’s toxicology capabilities and expanding access to these important testing services for patients across the country,” says Andrea Throop, PhD, head of toxicology at Labcorp, in a release. “By bringing together Labcorp’s national scale, scientific expertise and digital capabilities with Millennium Health’s deep experience in toxicology testing and drug surveillance, we are well positioned to support healthcare providers with actionable information that helps improve patient care and outcomes.”
Once the companies integrate, patients, clinicians, and Millennium customers are expected to benefit from Labcorp’s extensive test menu, its network of patient service centers across the US, and its digital solutions for test ordering and result delivery.
